Highlights and fun facts for 2016:

12,265 customers flown to destinations throughout the Pacific Northwest.
268 international passengers on flights that included places like Victoria, Vancouver, Nanaimo, Tofino, and Campbell River.
422 passengers flew with us to Point Roberts, WA., one of our newest scheduled routes.
233 miles was our farthest destination flight for 2016, to Salem, Oregon. (Last year, our farthest destination flight was to Helena, Montana – 447 miles!)
65 local charities and community non-profits were donated round trip flights for two.

-Did you know we deliver freight for Amazon.com? With Amazon’s Christmas in July Prime Day, our daily freight loads to all the inner and outer islands greatly increased. Amazon experienced an 18% increase in orders over the previous year’s Black Friday numbers! The Christmas season saw a greater increase in orders as well!
-Animals are also regular passengers for us. We transported rabbits, a baby dove, possum, squirrels, a Great Horned Owl, and a Bald Eagle free of charge in support of all the valuable work done by The Wolf Hollow Wildlife Rehabilitation Center located in Friday Harbor, WA.

Point Roberts Beaches

Point Roberts has 4 public beaches which are accessible and enjoyable all year long.  Don’t miss the Lily Point Marine Reserve.  The reserve features forest trails and natural beaches on one of the most complete and significant ecosystems in the Puget Sound – Salish Sea region. There are public restroom facilities at Lily Point Park and a new trail leading down to the beach!  Another not to be missed beach is the Lighthouse Marine Park.

Point Roberts Watchable Wildlife

The 21 acre park, Lighthouse Marine Park, has become known as one of the best places to view Orca whales from the land and offers 30 camping sites along with a group camping site as well.  Several Orca pods come by the West and South shores on their regular route in the Salish Sea. You can not only easily see them and photograph them from the shore, you can hear them sing as they come by.  If you don’t spot an Orca, you will surely spot some beautiful birds and eagles. 147 species of birds come through Boundary Bay and Point Roberts as part of the Pacific Flyway.

Point Roberts – Biking, Swimming, Running

Training for a triathlon or just looking for a great bike ride without a lot of traffic?  Because of the hilly terrain, beaches and trails, Point Roberts is a favorite training ground for triathletes.  There is local rental company that has bikes available for you.  You will find over 12 miles of trails for your hiking and trail running adventures.

The course is cut through the forest with views of the ocean distracting your eye on several holes. It plays between 5,144 and 6,868 yards depending on the tees and will challenge the potential of every golfer. Graham Cooke and Wayne Carleton have designed a course that flows through the land while taking care not to disturb the natural beauty and wildlife. Passing through the entry gates to the Point Roberts Golf & Country Club, you quickly realize why it ranks 6th in the entire United States for unique golf courses.  They have also been recognized from within the golf trade as the 2003 Best New Affordable Course, and recently added to the Golf Digest Best Places to Play list for 2008/2009.

Point Roberts Marina provides boaters with the perfect location to discover the San Juan Islands (13 miles), the Canadian Gulf Islands (10 miles), World Class Golf (2 miles), and private airport (1 mile). Point Roberts, Washington is located 30 miles north of Bellingham, WA and 22 miles south of Vancouver, B.C., immediately adjacent to the lower mainland community of Tsawwassen. The Point is in a “Blue Hole”, with some of the best weather in the northwest. Baker and the Cascades to the east, weather, clouds and fog, are blown out, creating a micro-climate with annual rainfall one third that of neighboring Vancouver.

Point Roberts is locally know as “Point Bob”, or “The Point” and is located in Whatcom County.  Yes, in the USA!   Point Roberts is a part of the mainland United States but is not physically connected to it.  It is located on the southernmost tip of the Tsawwassen Peninsula, 22 miles south of Vancouver, British Columbia.  You can only get to Point Roberts by land from the rest of the United States via traveling 23 miles through Canada.
