Point Roberts Marina Location
Point Roberts Marina provides boaters with the perfect location to discover the San Juan Islands (13 miles), the Canadian Gulf Islands (10 miles), World Class Golf (2 miles), and private airport (1 mile). Point Roberts, Washington is located 30 miles north of Bellingham, WA and 22 miles south of Vancouver, B.C., immediately adjacent to the lower mainland community of Tsawwassen. An anomaly of politics and geography, Point Roberts, has saltwater on three sides and a land bridge to the north connecting to Canada. It’s a great place to get away, and still be just minutes from the heart of Vancouver.
Point Roberts Weather
The Point is in a “Blue Hole”, with some of the best weather in the northwest. Being an equal distance from the surrounding mountains on Vancouver Island to the west, the Vancouver north shore mountains and Mt. Baker and the Cascades to the east, weather, clouds and fog, are blown out, creating a micro-climate with annual rainfall one third that of neighboring Vancouver.
Convenience
Drive time to tee-time to island time, in no time it’s playtime! Fly-in with San Juan Airlines whether you are a sailor, cruiser, fisherman, golfer or eco-tourist, Point Roberts Marina is a great place to moor your boat. The marina provides you with immediate access to the open waters of the Strait of Georgia. Fishermen can catch salmon and crab within 100 yards of the marina entrance. Sailors remove sail covers before they leave their slip so they can raise sails at the harbor entrance. The wind that blows out the weather makes sailing great all year long for day sailing, and with two local yacht clubs, there are racing programs year round. We have reciprocal agreements with scores of yacht clubs for cruising. Bring your golf clubs to play the Point’s all-season championship golf course. Lounge on your boat, walk or bicycle to view Orca whales, nearby bald eagle’s nests and one of the largest Great Blue Heron rookeries in North America.
Point Roberts Marina is the closest mooring location to the Gulf Islands. You are in the islands early on Friday night. Just as important as getting there, is getting home. On Sunday night, it is comforting to know that home is not far away.
